Hi folks.
i think we need somewhere to archive fanuc manuals and share them .
In that case everyone will be able to download and use them easily .
Just upload or find the Manual and paste the link ...

Recently bought 2000 year Hardinge VMC with Fanuc 0-MD control. I have yet to even see it fired up, and have no manuals yet, so in the meantime I'm just curious what the 'D' is all about ?

PB, but with the 'revisions' I don't recall then plopping the extra letter on the panel itself, so was wondering if this was beyond just a 'revision' ?

Mine's got 0i-MC right on the control face. Never heard about rev. D though.

a 0D is a limited 0C, not the other way around. I have a turning center with a retro'd 0D. There are things a C will do that a D won't due to hardware in most cases.

Will the screen look the same ? Is is CRT or LCD, mono or color ? (or was the monitor type an option that has nothing to do with the revision letter anyhoo ?)

I have an OTD on a gang tool & it has more stuff that my OTC's. The ladder can be seen on screen.
The D is a later model. - VSMIHot Rolled

I have machines with both 0MC and 0MD. I don't think a 'D' is a newer control, but an abbreviated keypad version of the 'C'. I think this is the limit of the hardware difference. After having used the C's, I find the D's abbreviated keypad cumbersome.

I was lead to believe that the OMD was a digital version of the OM. I think it was also the very last of the OM line....
It has since been superceded by the OiM control.
PBMW is correct that for the OiM control, the final letter is the software revision. OiMC is the latest 'current' version - VSMIHot Rolled

Interesting, I have a '98 machine with a D, and a '99 machine with a C - (these years also show on-screen when the control boots). Fanuc control cabinet parts seemed to be interchangeable - as I have done so (with the blessing of Fanuc America's tech support) to chase down a problem. Must have missunderstood the Fanuc guy... Now you've got me curious too. There must be more of an expert around here than just us owners...

The 0D is the low-cost version of the 0C control.
4-Axis max on the D
6-Axis available on the 0C (the 0C is the older version) This is because the Sub-CPU board (for Addl. Axes) is only compatable with the 0C software
Same memory board and the same Master PCB on both.
The 0D sold for less. - 00danPlastic

0 md troubles
I have a mill that I'm trying to get going after losing all my parameters. We got them loaded but now I get a 4th axis alarms and can't clear them. The Fanuc guys say the par's # 914 and 917 are attributes of the 4th axis. They are all zeros on my machine hard copy data sheet. When I change them back to all zeros they just return when I start up again. They say there is another parameter that is forcing them to change but no one can tell me what they are. Anybody got any ideas?
